Magazine franchise business, Raring2go! were poised for expansion in the Central Belt in the run up to Scottish Franchise Week (16-20th May).
Victoria Withy who has successfully run the Aberdeen franchise has been appointed to spearhead development of the franchise in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
She took on the franchisee for Aberdeenshire and then Aberdeen City and the surrounding county seven years ago when her daughter was 18 months old, and has never looked back. It has grown every quarter since starting and now has a circulation of over 32,000. The business had a turnover of £116,000 last year.
New Zealander Victoria is a dynamic woman with a previous successful career in marketing, PR and conference management who was looking for a part-time career she could combine with being a mum to Natasha (7).
She said: “Raring2go! is an exciting business opportunity which offers excellent financial rewards combined with a better work-life balance. It can be run from home so the overheads are low and you manage your own time so it is ideal for fitting around family commitments.
“You can either run the business on your own with the support of the franchisor or you can manage a team of people, depending on how large or small you want the business to be. Personally, I have a team of five freelancers who help me with everything from selling space to magazine design.”
Raring2go! is a high quality quarterly A5 magazine which provides parents and carers of primary school children with a definitive hyper local guide of what to do and where to go. Each edition is packed full of family friendly editorial, event listings, celebrity features as well as highly relevant advertising. This advertising is aimed at informing parents of the wide range of activities available to them both on their own doorstep and much further afield. Franchisees sell advertising in the publication to local attractions and companies. Raring2go! now has 52 editions across the UK operated by 46 franchisees and is looking for ambitious individuals to join them in this exciting business. Each new franchise owner attends a three-day residential training course at the company’s head office in the Midlands.
