Merry Maids UK has raised £10,000 for its Charity of the Year, Alzheimer’s Society.
This year, Merry Maids UK staff have attended workshops hosted by Alzheimer’s Society to learn more about dementia.
Last year the brand raised £4,000 for Alzheimer’s Society through the Forget Me Knot Challenge.
This year, Merry Maids staff nationwide participated in their second annual Forget Me Knot Challenge, alongside multiple other fundraising activities supported by their customers to help raise a huge amount of money for Alzheimer’s Society.
As part of their fundraising efforts, staff walked, ran and cycled 8,715 miles – which is the distance from the UK to Papua New Guinea.
What their support means
The brand recently had the pleasure of presenting Meg Foxall, a Regional Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society, with a cheque for the money raised at its head office in Leicester.
Megan said:
“We are so grateful that Merry Maids chose Alzheimer’s Society as their Charity of the Year. Each hour people generously give to fundraise for us, every event they take part in, every pound they donate, they’re making a life-changing difference to people living with dementia.
“Alzheimer’s Society provides vital support to people living with dementia, funds groundbreaking research and campaigns to make dementia the priority it should be. Together, we will end the devastation caused by dementia.
“There are currently around a million people in the UK with dementia. But we simply can’t reach everyone without the continued support of our incredible fundraisers like Merry Maids.”
